This coffee is a tasty pick if you like African coffee. It’s sweet and fragrant but not to floral. The tasting notes also may include a flavor similar to black tea. This particular coffee is a “peaberry”. Coffee trees produce cherries which typically contain two seeds. Open the cherry and you’ll find two green coffee beans, face to face with flat sides.
When the coffee cherries are harvested, between 5% to 10% of the cherries will contain only one bean. Coffee cherries containing just one bean are referred to as peaberries.

In 2008, a group of 180 women from KOPAKAMA Coperative came together to form a Women’s Group.
The focal point of the group was to share in the challenge of rehabilitating coffee fields in order to earn a better living in the absence of their husbands.
The women raise funds through their coffee sales to plant a collective coffee field called Ejo Heza, or A Beautiful Tomorrow.
The money has also been invested in water access for the community and has been used to help poor members buy cows.
The coop has 247 women members who contribute through their individual and collective farms.
