Description: The Gashonga Washing Station is situated in the Western Provence of Rwanda in the Rusizi District which contains the western half of the famous Nyungwe Rain Forest. Gashonga is a cooperative founded in 2009 with 104 members. The climate is ideal for producing specialty coffee with its rich volcanic soils, good altitude and sufficient rainfall. The trees are all Arabica Bourbon and range between 3-40 years of age.
